I think buying a mac mini but seeing the 8gb memory price of $ 300 in the apple store

I guess it's better to buy memory separately

Kingston Apple 8GB Kit (2x4GB Modules) 1066MHz DDR3 SODIMM iMac and Macbook Memory (KTA-MB1066K2/8G)

$87.99
or

Crucial CT2KIT51264BC1067 8GB 204-PIN PC3-8500 SODIMM DDR3 (4GBx2)
$78.99

thanks

I'm curious too. Had my eye on the Kingston ram. But keep hearing things about the Crucial being better?

yes I have opened and upgraded ram in about 100 minis 2007 to 2010
samsung
hynix

2006 model a 1.66ghz c2d had some mushkin.

apple no longer bothers to have an apple label for any of the ram it uses. when it did have a label it was simple rebranding of one of the above companies.
