Thought I would give you guys an update on iOS 9.1 beta 4. I installed it yesterday afternoon and I must say today the phone has been operating so smooth I'm not sure if it's smoother than yesterday afternoon because it took time for things to settle down or the so-called indexing phase to finish. Everything just seems so fluid and smooth on my iPhone 6s I'm really pleased with how this iOS is turning out. There are a few bugs here and there but the fluidity of the operating system is so much better than I've ever seen it including iOS 8.4.1

On iPhone 6, there's still stutter at times when swiping across home screens after an unlock but the animations are definitely faster than 9.0.2. It's approaching 8.4.1 but not quite there yet. App switcher is still slower than 8.4.1's as well.

I tried iOS 9 Public Beta 2 on my iPad 3 and saw a dramatic improvement. That's why I was stunned at the fact that iOS 9.0.1/2 was slower than iOS 8, but I have high hopes for iOS 9.1.

Same. I've been swiping everything like crazy this morning. It's so fluid, I can't stop playing with it.

iPhone 5S 32GB on Beta 4 is extremely smooth. There's a slight lag when you double click to go to app switcher but if you honestly get hung up about few millisecond lag on a few year old iPhone, you'll never be perfectly satisfied.

Has anyone had enough usage time on 9.1b4 to comment on battery life yet?

Smooth makes me think more efficient makes me think fewer CPU cycles being used to do stuff which should also translate into better battery life.

Might 9.1 beta 4 finally be the release where Apple makes good on its claim of up to an hour extra battery life on iOS 9 vs iOS 8.x?

Been running beta 4 since its release . Definitely smooth but still has stutters while swiping down from search or when double clicking the home button to bring up previous apps. Particularly on the 6 plus which is only one year old. Apples claims of improving speed seem to be the main cause of angst. Compare with this el capitan which runs really well even on 4-5 year old computers. My iMac which is 4 years old and is not even included on the list of computers that support metal still has a significant speed boost compared to the previous version (yosemite). Sadly apple was not able to replicate this performance boost on iOS9 .
