I have never backed up to iCloud before, I always backed up locally.
I bought 200GB of iCloud storage and when I try to backup it says "the last backup could not be completed". It seems to go about half way then fails.

I tried rebooting signing in and out of iCloud ... nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas to fix this?

thanks everyone ... it seems that it works for some people and not for others. Hopefully on the 16th this will be fixed.

yes
When using beta / GM candidates, it is best to backup locally. And when iCloud backup returns, use both methods of backup.

one thing I have learned about using beta software is to never rely on iCloud backups.
I'm connecting to Mac Book Pro itunes at least once a week and using Time Capsule.
Plus an 'off site' hard drive backup so it will be four backups (when icloud works).

thanks ... i did see some other threads but it seemed like some people were saying it was working. I thought maybe someone had a trick or workaround that I could try on 9.1

iOS 9 broke my iCloud backup too. Now even my iOS 8 device can't backup. And iTunes backup doesn't work too. I am waiting for Wednesday release. I will never ever ever use beta again on my personal device. I spent 3 days trying to fix this.

Update: iCloud backup started working about an hour ago for me. I'm all set.

What methods did you use? Or it just suddenly went well.

I turned the iCloud backup switch off then on as I tried in the past but this time when I clicked backup now it worked. It seems like the problem is on Apples side.

Wasn't working for me until today I had to delete my iPhone cloud backup and then try it again and it worked.

I've been able to backup to iCloud just fine since being on the iOS 9 Beta. Initially, it wouldn't automatically backup when plugged in, locked, and on wi-fi but that small glitch resolved itself. It backs up on 9.1 fine, too.

iCloud backups started working again when I installed 9.1, but now the phone is making multiple backups. Like this:

EJ8's iPhone (This Device) - 9.8 GB
EJ8's iPhone (This iPhone) - 9.6 GB

So with 20GB iCloud space it now says it's out of space - because it's trying to make a 3rd backup. And it won't let me delete either of them! "Cannot delete backup". Ergg.

Update: my problem wasn't related to iOS 9, on my iOS 8 iPhone I had 2 corrupted apps. I had to re-download them and delete from the Settings app, I identified them by the version number.
