Finally, Half-Life on Intel Tiger is now available for download!

Mods and other GoldSrc games should also work! I have tested this on a Mac Mini running Mac OS X 10.4 which has an Intel GMA 950 GPU, running at 1280x800 with great performance. You need the 'valve' directory which is part of a Half-Life installation to run the game. The Half-Life.app will ask you for this, and install it to Half-Life.app/lib/xash3d/valve. After that, you can launch the game. Half-life.app is a portable application, and can be ran from anywhere.

I've just tried it on my system (10.11.6) but the app stalled with the Terminal message:
[19:41:03] Sys_Warn: SDL_Init failed: The video driver did not add any displays

Hello,

Wrong forum I know but is it possible to get this running on Catalina and later? Would love to play Half Life on Big Sur!

Yea, jumped the gun on compatibility with this. Tiger does definitely work though.

I may try to do a 64 bit build as well, and get more versions to work. I will reply here if that happens but if most likely will soon enough!

I actually have bad news. Because the Half-Life assets are 32 bit, Xash3D has to be 32 bit to run Half-Life. And since Apple axed 32 bit support, 10.15+ won’t have a build.

I am going to do a snow leopard build so 10.6-10.14 do work however.

I have just uploaded Release 2 of Half Life for Tiger. This release is what release 1 should’ve been. By statically linking against libgcc and libstdc++, all the weird issues I’ve experienced with release one have been fixed! I played online for quite a while yesterday, and it was a lot of fun.

Macintosh Garden (HTTP friendly)

I have verified Mac OS X 10.6.8 does not work with the Tiger build. A different build for Snow Leopard will have to be made. Leopard should work, but is unverified.

My 10.5+ build of Xash that's been available on the Macgarden for a while now should run on 10.6-10.14 without problems fyi.
