Hi,

I'm trying to install 9.2 on an iBook. These are the original system disks for this machine. Before I started I initialized the hard drive. Everything seems to go smoothly, but then when the it gets to the "Internet Access and "Mac OS run time for java" packages I get the following error message:

"The helper application 'Installer Engine' unexpectedly quit. The installation process has been stopped".

I then have the option to try again or to skip this package and continue with the installation. I have tried just installing these two packages, and I get the same errors. I have never had this problem before, any thoughts?

I kinda doubt he's a developer.

Dirty disks? Complete longshot. I'm thinking if you keep trying it should eventually work. There's no good reason it shouldn't.
