Just got my first ipad, the 9.7 pro and unfortunately there's a screen issue. It's really only obvious on a white screen, but still enough to bug me. There's a roughly rectangular, wallet sized area that stands out, where the outline is whiter than the middle. The edges aren't clean either, and it makes the screen look dirty, like a white wall that's been touched too much. Just wondering if this is a known issue, maybe an lcd thing? Unfortunately this was a used ebay purchase, but they said the screen was perfect and like new. And in every other respect the ipad is, but I'm a bit ocd about these things, and this is a glaring issue for me. Here's a pic where you can sort of see in the lower half of the screen what I'm talking about.

Reading around a bit more, I can't find an example just like this one, but guessing it may be a stress or pressure issue. Like someone with a wallet in their back pocket sat down hard on the ipad. Just wish the seller had advertised this and saved me the headache of returning it; I wouldn't have purchased it if I'd known.

I’ve noticed a similar discoloration on my 10.5 Pro. Bottom left area. It’s most noticeable on white pages, especially when you scroll down while reading text. It seems like the screen just isn’t clean.

Quite difficult to unsee.
