Actually,

I've totally maxed out my ipod. I do iPhone app reviews on youtube, so i get a ton of apps. During the process, i have run across a ton of awesome apps. All apps on my ipod are used at least once every 2 weeks.

It sucks. I think its ridiculous and it will cause Apple and Developers to make less money. I filled up all 9 pages on the first day of owning the 3G iPhone and everytime i want to buy something new I have to delete something else. It sucks and makes me buy way less apps than i would if the only limit was the size of the hard drive. Since the limit is going to cause Apple to lose out of possible revenue i'm sure they will change this in the future.

If you jailbreak, there is an excellent app on Cydia called Categories that lets you put apps into folders and off the Springboard. Way better than many pages, in my opinion.

haha. there shouldnt be more pages. it would become SUPER laggy if the device had to cache all those icons!! plus if u turn the device off it will take FOREVER for it to boot up, for the same reason. no, i think they should create different "folders/categories" like the app store: books, games, productivity etc. that would clean up the home screen(s) a lot. also have the apps listed with a tiny icon as apposed to tiled with huge icons. that would make it easier and faster to navigate. all this, however, makes no difference cuz Apple has their heads so far up their asses, they cant hear our complaints. honestly, how many problems or missing features have been discussed that Apple doesnt even pay attention to. its not even like its just a few people saying it, its an overwhelming majority! but, Apple has somehow lost touch with their roots and are now arrogant and think they kno whats best for us. and we are supposed to be little drones and believe that. no Apple, thats not how we think! we have oppinions and YOU NEED TO LISTEN because a lot of the time, WE are right, not you! lets hope Apple finally pays attention soon, and maybe their products will truly be the best!

Sorry for my rant! I got a little carried away, but you see my point.

I'm constantly having to decide what apps to delete so I can download more... my nine pages are always maxed out. And adding more pages isn't the solution, either. Having pages is great if you only have a few, but the more you have the more unweildy the system is. Apple needs something entirely new.

Also, would you want 20 pages of just straight apps?

I wouldn't ... scrolling through the 6 pages i currently use is bad enough .... i would hate 20 pages to swipe around ... that navigation then becomes very non-apple.

The iPhone OS wasn't really designed to have more than 1 or 2 pages of Apps ... i'm certain iPhone 3.0 will have a major new navigation system.

With as many apps as I download on a daily basis, I'd be completely swamped without having Categories to put most of my permanent apps into folders to keep pages free for apps I'm trying out/reviewing.... it was the main reason for my Jailbreaking my phone in the first place...

I like my iPhone neat and organized so I can find things quickly. With that said, I don't see the need for more pages -- I could not and would not fill them. However, I would love to see a native categories application, that woulld be very useful to me and probably allow me to have more apps!

I started using a neat method for this very problem, KRAPPS. An easy way tyo do it is if you have a couple extra slots open on your last screen, move the dock items up there so you have four slots open on the bottom dock. Then you can use those four slots as temporary app slots while you cycle through the pages. Wanna move an item from page 9 to page 1? Easy, toss it down there, slide over to page 1 and make the switch. TA-DA!

theres a limit because despite what people here say, the UI of the iphone is terrible and inefficient. who in their right mind is going to swipe 9 times left and right to get to the app they want to open? yes this is 'simple' to do, but incredibly silly and shows a complete lack of foresight by apple.

3.0 iPhone

It will be a little better my guess when they make a circular spring board come I am assuming 3.0 so that left from the home is linked to the end... really doubt code wise that would be too hard to do... If the Jailbreaked phone hasn't already.
