Hello,

I was curious if anyone has found 9400 mGPU drivers for Vista 64 bit, because I noticed that when I run Vista 64 bit I do not get all the nice new features of the GPU. So, I was wondering if anyone had found drivers for it that are not the one's supplied on the apple install cd.

Thank You

Are you on a MacBook? I'm assuming you are since a mbp uses the 9600 in windows. You can get drivers from laptopvideo2go.com but you also need the modified inf file. Download the latest drivers from there, extract them to a folder, then put the modified inf file in the same folder as the drivers to replace the original. Run the setup, restart and you're good to go.

Make sure you uninstall the original drivers first.

What did you mean by the graphics card features or whatever you wrote? If you aren't gaming I don't think you will notice ANY difference but good luck. Actually even if you are gaming, I'm not sure how great the results will be with a 9400m.

I just reread your post. Nice new features of the gpu? Please explain what you mean, you might be expecting too much from these drivers/card. I'll try to help if you'll clarify.

Well with the mGPU you can use Hybrid SLI technology, which is only available on Windows right now, because Apple hasn't made the drivers yet for OS X, but they haven't released their version of the drivers for BootCamp. Also, it would allow the usage of 9400 and instead of the 9600M GT on Windows, but if I need to step up the graphics on Windows it will switch over with out the needing of logging out, but right now I am forced to use the 9600M GT only, which kills battery life as well.

according to nVidia, you cannot use the 9400M in Windows. Booting into windows just runs the 9600GT video card. The MacBook Pro does NOT support hybrid SLi.

That's correct. Unfortunately it isn't something you can just update and it will work. I'm not sure if they will release an update to it later or not, but for now you can only use the 9600 in windows.

Dang, I was hoping it was just a simple driver thing, because the set up is correct to do it, mGPU with a dGPU. Also, I have read a lot of things saying it is possible for it to work in the future, but it's a matter of Apple coming out with the drivers, and I know I can download nvidia drivers that aren't Apple's version and use them.
