That's a HUGE approval percentage.

With all the buzz about Mark Hurd, Hewlett-Packard’s CEO who forced to resign late last week because of a sexual harassment investigation, an ongoing survey came to life on CEO approval ratings. Glassdoor.com, is a site that lets employees anonymously provide salary rates as well as rate CEOs. According to Glassdoor.com Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs gets 98% approval rating from Apple employees. This is an extremely high number, especially with the image that Jobs has in the industry as tough and relentless. Paul Otellini from Intel gets 82% approval rating, John Chambers from Cisco gets 81%, Larry Ellison from Oracle gets 78%, Carol Bartz from Yahoo gets 56%, Steve Ballmer from Microsoft gets 52% and Michael S. Dell gets 51%. At the last place is HP’s CEO Mark Hurd with just 34% approval rating from HP employees. Of course the survey is not scientific but it gives an idea on how each CEO is perceived within his company.

does not smell right to me because I have look at a lot of reports on from worker after worker that complain about apple and its culture. The engineering suffering burn out. Over demand ect.
Mind you you do get a lot of fans going in and posting on it to which allows for a overly high numbers.

Agreed, I've read the same thing besides, no matter how great a company is doing there is always a contingent of workers who are unhappy. 2% seems unrealistic

This is based on a voluntary poll by the users of Glassdoor.com so take it w/a large amount of salt. I'm not saying it cannot show general trends, but it's like going to Yelp.com, finding a business w/a 5 star rating and then making the assumption that every customer that has ever used that business was 100% satisfied.

The numbers from Glassdoor.com give Apple an overall "company rating" of 3.8 out of 5 (based on 654 ratings) and of the 585 people that voted on how Jobs is leading Apple 98% gave him a thumbs up while only 2% gave him a thumbs down.
