There is quite a few blockbusters in those 39 movies, such as:
Ghostbusters
Terminator 2
Rambo
Men in Black
Hellboy
Total Recall
Lost in Space
Granted they're not recent movies, but age has nothing to do with being a good or a bad movie.
Besides, the fact that there is a page with 39 movies to rent for 99 cents each on top of the 3 regular movies of the week is a good thing.
What if it's a permanent thing and there is always 30 to 40 new movies each week? In my opinion if you can't pick a single movie from a list of 30+ movie, you're too picky.
Keep watching, they regularly feature sales on rentals and purchases. I picked up Searching For Bobby Fischer some time back for $4.99, a great movie and one that's apparently no longer available on DVD. A pity.
