Anyone with the same issue? after iOS 11 I haven't been able to use that app anymore

But not before trying to contact the dev support if there is one, and leaving a bad review on the app store.

How is this answering the OP question? To OP delete 9GAG, clear the Ram, shut down the phone for 5 min, turn it on and install 9GAG again. This process will kill every background service related to 9GAG that can be causing the overheat. No issues here on my end.

My phone got overheat because I have pi-hole running, which block one of the domain the app tries to query.
