Just read this on 9to5mac at http://9to5mac.com/apple-store-unlocked-iphones-4325092347

We're getting communication (and a few tweets) that the Apple Store is going to start selling iphones 'at list price' in the near future. Youve always been able to buy them this way but you've needed to show proof of an AT&T plan. Besides the Tweet, we've heard:

"Holy *****. We can now sell unlocked [iPhones] as of today at list price!"

List price means $499 for 8GB, $599 for 16GB and 32GB is $699.

...

Update: Apple has confirmed the new plan and will be selling iPhones from the store this way at one unit per person per day.

What do you guys think?

The source has confirmed that the phone is still locked, which makes this no longer news.
