Hello,

I have an Apple display that I got just before they released the titanium ones. It is still pearly white. It works fine.

I'm having this problem in XP though. My monitor will randomly go to its minimum brightness. There appears to be no rhyme or reason for it. It doesn't do this in OS X. Of course, I can control the monitor brightness with my F1 and F2 keys on my wireless keyboard, but not in XP.

To get around this I've had to reboot to OS X first, then reboot to Windows.

Also, the monitor has no physical buttons. It has the touch sensitive power switch on the right, and the brightness one on the left. Neither of those do anything in XP.

Is there a solution to this? Fiddling with brightness in Windows doesn't change the way my monitor displays, just the desktop image.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have an Nvidia control card, check to see if you have powermizer. There is an option in there that controls the brightness of your display, and it will dim it automatically.

No, I don't have PowerMizer in my Nvidia stuff.

It is annoyingly now seeming to dim right after XP finishes launching.

Why oh why could it be doing this? I simply need a way to change my monitor's brightness from the computer, since the touch-sensitive controls on the monitor aren't recognized by windows.

Thanks for any help.

If this helps the monitor is polycarbonate and has the model number of A1038.

I've searched and found this WinADC program.

Can anyone vouch for this?

Thanks
