the states for now
I just wanted to personally thank many that endured my thousands of posts a day, all essentially highlighting my flaw of indecisiveness. I started off with a powerbook, then a macbook pro but saw the value of the imac/ibook combo. Then realized it wasnt for me. So I ordered my Macbook Pro a few minutes ago with my education discount(recently accepted into OSU's biology program!) and believe the machine will keep me happy throughout my college years despite it's rev a problems. Thank You! :)

You'll need sunglasses while using the MBP .. the backlight keys are bright

and it looks like there's no-way to adjust the brightness of the key backlight

function-f8 and function-f9 don't work for the keyboard light?

Oh dang don't change your mind again! ;)

But really, I cant' imagine them not allowing you to change the brightness settings. That just doesn't make sense.

Did you order from apple? If so why do you have to pay shipping costs??? I thought shipping was free on all purchases over a certain amount.

Bummer that you have to pay taxes too!

Anyway, looks like a great computer you bought there. Hope you'll manage to keep yourself composed waiting for it the next 2-3 weeks!

First off congratulations on the whole OSU thing...

but you may want to look at MacMall because they have:

Free ram upgrade (512mb)
Free Case
Free
Wacom tablet

Plus - no sales tax and cheap shipping

Suppose it's too late now, but if that OSU you are referring to is Oregon State University, Oregon doesn't have any sales tax - you could (have) saved $200. Or bought MS Office SE...

If it is another 'O' State University, then never mind. Probably never mind anyway...also, did you get a student discount? I couldn't tell from the price you posted...

Does your MBP have any Rev. A symptoms that other people have encountered?

I purchased the faster shipping because when Im aying that much for a computer the extra $15 is not going to matter.

I hate dealing with rebates and I already have a case. Thanks for the idea though.

No, not Oregon, Ohio. Yes I did get the student discount as mentioned in my beginning post. But tax is a killer.

The length of time before it ships.
