The iBook is back in action after the dreaded "no video" problem. For $50, I sent the logic board away to have the solder re-flowed on the video chip. Put it back together last night and all is well. Yay.
First Phase Tech. They advertise the service on ebay; search for "iBook video repair". Too bad you can't send the whole iBook in for repair -- that level of service is worth a bit more than $50 for sure.
But if you're patient and thorough and a bit adventurous, I'm sure anybody could get their broken 'book fixed for little money.
