A Broken Page Down Key on PB15"

I went to visit CNN this afternoon and when I scrolled down to read the news my page down key popped off. For those of you not familiar with the way in which PowerBook keys are attached to the keyboard, on the left side of the key are too plastic holders that lock it in loosely on the left side, and then on the right side there are four tiny plastic prongs that snap it onto the right side of the white plastic piece that is on the keyboard. Unfortunately, on the right side of my page down key, to the left tiny plastic pieces are broken, leaving just the two left prongs all the way on the left, and the furthest right prongs, so basically the key won't stay on any longer.

My question is, what should I do? My one year warranty is not up, so I could always bring it to the Apple Store which is about 15-20 minutes away. However, I really hope they do not have me send out my keyboard to have the entire keyboard replaced, because I can't wait another 2 weeks to get it back. I have important business I have to finish within these next 2 weeks, and then I leave for college fairly soon.

So... if I brought it to the Apple Store would they be able to replace a single key, or should I try repairing it on my own? I still have the two little pieces of plastic and the key on my desk, but they are so tiny I don't know if I could superglue them back into place, and if that may void the warranty or what-not.

If you recommend I not fix it and the Apple Store won't replace a single key, I could always bite the bullet and get the keyboard fixed (it would be an entirely new free keyboard I guess), I would just prefer not to have to resort to that.

Well isn't the tab underneath the keyboard still functional? Why don't you just call Apple and send them a photo andmake sure there is a replacement keyboard at your applestore for you and use your keyboard until then. I think it is like fifteen minutes to replace, at least on Tibooks. DON'T fix yourself. You'll void warranty, I'm sure. This must be an aluminum pb. My tibook keys are still excellent after four years. (Just had to get that in.)

Yes, the tab underneath is in perfect condition, just the plastic key itself is busted. I was playing baseball with a miniature Detroit Tigers bat and empty diet sprite cans in my room, and I think one of them hit the keyboard. That's a good idea though, I'll just bring in my PowerBook to the Apple Store and see what they can do. Hopefully they will be able to order a replacement keyboard, or maybe they have a spare page down key they can give me (doubtful). Regardless, thanks for your advice.
