Like so many out there, I'm looking to get the Macbook Air whenever it refreshes. This will be my first Apple computer (not my primary computer though).
What I'm wondering is this: I've never kept tabs on Apple before, so I don't know what they've been like in the past. So I'm wondering how their supply is on new releases? Will the Air sell out day #1 and be difficult to get? Or are they fairly good about supply right off the bat? Unfortunately the only Apple store that existed within a 15 minute driving distance shut down after being around for only a few years (opened and closed relatively recently). So I'll have to drive out to Vancouver to get to an Apple store, which will be something like a 40+ minute drive. I don't want to drive there to find out that the place is packed with people buying stuff and what I want isn't there.
Also wondering... is their back-to-school $100 deal valid only at Apple stores? Or is it actually promoted at Apple resellers such as Futureshop/Best Buy/London Drugs/etc? If so, I guess there's no difference purchasing from an Apple reseller as opposed to an Apple store?
