Does anyone else see a delay between when the click Apple --> Sleep and the time the computer actually goes to sleep?

My MacPro 4,1 is now taking 30 seconds or so before it actually goes to sleep. It only does this when I'm booted into Lion.
My Snow Leopard partition goes to sleep instantly.

Thanks!

I've noticed the same behavior with my Mac Pro and Mac Mini under Lion 10.7.4 — so I guess it’s not a Mac Pro specific issue.

Have had the same problem since Lion was released. Just seems to take longer for the command to work it's way through the system. SL is almost instant though.

Might be Lion has to do things before it can sleep just like that. God knows why. Possibly because it is saving everything to memory as though you are doing a flu shut down.

I have the same delay with sleep on my 2009 Mac Pro - turns out it is my Firewire iSight Camera - the computer sleeps normally when disconnected.

The bug started with 10.7.3 and persists in 10.7.4 - I'm hoping it is fixed in 10.8 but as the FireWire iSights are long since discontinued I doubt the bug has high priority for a fix. It's a shame as all the alternative standalone web cams I've seen that I might upgrade to are truely hideous looking things in comparison.

I think we have a winner!!!

I unplugged my iSight camera and the Mac sleeps instantly.

I wonder if it is an iSight issue or a firewire issue. I don't have any other firewire devices to play with.

Thanks!!!
