A different colour MacBook?

Hi All, Hi Al,

I just wonder if anyone has tried the Colorware Custom Painting Service and gone and had thier MacBook sprayed up: Crush Orange, Fushion Pink, Jade Green (very Apple), Coffee Brown, Cobalt Blue (and actually if Apple was gonna have a third colour the blue looks damn good)?

Do you regret it? Does it last? Do people say "oow that's nice"?

By the way their web site besides showing quite funky looking MacBooks also shows an orange Dell - be warned!

I think it would last. On the iMacs and (when they were still being made) iBooks, they paint the inside of the clear case - excellent finish.

I believe the Mini's, MacBooks and MB Pro's are painted, then covered in a patented scratch resistant varnish, oh, as are the iPods.

I'm getting something in Orange or Lime for Uni.. I think.

Orange is the best color in the world. It's the only color where your mouth waters when you see the perfect hue.

...well, at least mine does.

And orange brings comaraderie to others that like orange. Isn't it great?

If only they had the skin to match.. (I'm not really orange, but people consider St. Tropez fake tan, and its not, so people automatically assume I'm orange.. not that I complain!)

back to the thread: Oh yes, it would work for a macbook I don't think it would fade at all (for what they're charging it better not.) If I had the money I would for sure get the orange one.

I haven't heard anything - good or bad - about ColorWare personally, but it sure does look nice. I'd be more interested in making my 'book clear by taking the coat of paint or whatever it is off the case.

Still like to find out if someone has tried this. They also do black carbon (matt I suppose) and I wonder if it's the same process that Apple use.

I note another thread were someone has said their black MacBook has peeled!

That was written long ago when the ipod mini's were around... you know, the colorful ones. Where they had "gold" instead of orange.............
