I searched for Omniweb, and I didn't get too many hits so maybe we can start this thread up for discussing this new release. So I'm writing this post from Omniweb. My computer is not too fast. It's an iBook G3 700 w/ 640mb of RAM, but especially after today's Safari update, Omniweb seems quite slow.
I like the "workspace" drawer to the left in contrast to safari's tabs.To be honest, i think they are overhyped. What's the difference here except we get to see a picture of the website rather than a tab with its name? not a big deal to me.
Overall, Omniweb is not that fast of a web page loader compared to Safari or any of the mozilla based browsers (camino, firebird, etc)
Perhaps the best thing about Omniweb is that if you buy it, it's yours. When Apple updates the OS, it'll still work. It isn't like Apple not giving the 1.2 update to jaguar owners.
Well so in sum, I think Omniweb 5 looks good, but I'm underwhelmed and while it is beta software, there will have to be massive speed improvements before I consider it over Safari. Now if you excuse me i'm going to close omniweb and revisit this thread on Safari. Oh yeah and I like Camino a lot, but mainly due to UI, I prefer Safari, even though camino's a smidge faster.
