Hi,
For starters, my machine is a MBP C2D 2.33 / 2GB RAM / 160GB HD / matte
Here are a few of my concerns:
1. About a week ago, I was waiting outside bestbuy to get a PS3 (hahaha), using my MBP. Then it started drizzling slightly, and even though I was under a roof a small amount of water hit my laptop. Weird thing is, the screen became dark and told me to reboot my computer by holding the power button. There really wasn't much water at all (tiny little drops) and I don't see how the computer could get affected so quickly by this.
2. It crashed another time, just like that for no reason. I had my mouse over the dock and it just froze. I thought macs could never crash, so I left the room for 10 mins hoping to return to an unfrozen MBP, but that didn't happen. Had to reboot with the button.
3. Often when I play warcraft 3 and exit the game, the game freezes up. I know there is no way to minimize games in OS X, but would apple+control+esc close it? Could anything else force quit the game?
4. How silent is it supposed to be on idle? I know that I constantly hear something, not sure if its the fan or hard drive, but something is spinning in there. I had read on this forum that somebody had mentioned that their machine was almost dead silent, so unless they're deaf, is something wrong with mine? CONFIRMED: all the noise made at idle is by the hard drive. Man that thing spinning is rather noisy, it sounds like a muffled fan.
5. When you first boot up the computer and open, say, safari, how quickly does it load? Mine bounces a few times. I'd assume the reason for this is because the hard drive is slow.
Thanks in advance and I hope none of these are serious issues.
