a few problems

I have a mac book pro and Ive been having some problems...

1 is that when the backlight is low, it makes a loud humming sound, can this be fixed?

2 my laptop has started to just randomly shut off when not connected to a power supply. Theres not warning about battery life, it just goes black and shuts off and will not start up until I plug it into the power supply...

We'll start with the second problem and hopefully fix the first by association... Try resetting your SMC and then running a battery calibration. Good luck.

The humming sound can't be fixed with resetting the smc...you should go to the apple service, there is something damaged (normally). the problem is common.
