-I'm currently on a Verizon iPhone 6S that I paid for in full at launch last year. I plan to preorder using the Apple Upgrade Program, buying a Verizon iPhone 7. When the 7 comes, do I use the SIM from my current phone, or do I use the new one that will come already loaded in the 7? Does it matter?

-Do text messages get backed up when backing up to iTunes? When I do a restore from backup to the new 7, will they carry over and be in place just as they were on the 6S?

-Finally, since I don't have enough room on my Macbook Air to backup my current phone, I plan on using my Windows PC to do it. Any reason it would be an issue to restore it using my Windows iTunes vs. on the MBA?

Thanks!

The SIMs don't really matter as long as they get associated with your account and work fine.

Backups (iCloud or iTunes) include messages.

Backing up using a Mac or a PC should work about the same as far as being able to restore form a backup.

Question: I seem to recall keeping the new Sim in when I upgraded to the iPhone 6. However the Apple instructions indicate to remove the new one and put your old Sim in.

Does anyone remember what the you have to do or answer if leaving the new Sim in when restoring from iCloud backup?

I personally don't mind exchanging the Sims, but I know some people who upgraded and won't remove the new Sim. Anything that I should be aware of by keeping the new Sim in?

I thought this had been answered (you're basically asking the same thing as me) but still curious to verify.

That's correct. Didn't mean to vear from your subject. I mainly was looking for what info was needed using the new Sim.

Does the verification ask for your phone number, acct number, etc?

As I mentioned I'm sure I did it before, but just don't remember what it entails. Hopefully someone can chime in.
