A Few Questions Regarding Using iPhone To Control A PC

I'm on a 3.0 FW jailbroken 32GB 3GS and I have been wanting to use one of these apps for awhile now. I finally set up my wireless network today so I'm ready to mess around with it now. Basically I just want to control my PC from my couch because I have it hooked into my 42" HDTV but I don't have a wireless mouse and keyboard lol. I have a few questions though:

Which app is the best for this, like most stable and best ease of use etc? I'm completely new to this so Im looking for a user-friendly one to start off. I just want something that let's ne use my phone like a wireless mouse/keyboard for browsing the Internet, or selecting music/movies to play from their respective folders from the desktop.

Also, I will be upgrading to 3.1.2 over the weekend and re-JBing via the BlackRa1n method. Are these apps compatible with 3.1.x yet? If not I'll stick with my jailbroken 3.0 FW for now as this app is more important to me than whatever menial updates 3.1.x adds. MMS is the only major thing right? That's not too important to me right now.

you dont have to jailbreak for this. the only applications that i know of that do this sort of thing are in the app store. i use this touchpad elite:

I've been looking at the Jaadu apps, but I'm not sure what the difference between the two is? One is Jaadu VNC, the other is Jaadu Remote Desktop. Both descriptions seem like they do the same thing, so what is the difference?

My PC is Windows XP by the way. I've noticed on a bunch of these apps it says windows users need a seperate VNC. Any recommendations or are they all pretty much the same?

I use RemotePad because it's free and I play movies with a command line app with keyboard shortcuts, so all I need is a remote mouse and keyboard control. I tried a remote desktop app and personally thought it was impossible to use. It was a tiny little version of my desktop with lots of lag. Very annoying.

The remote desktop I tried was NTRconnect, which says "absolutely FREE!" but is actually a free trial. I would suggest trying any free apps like those to see if you need a remote desktop or just a way to control the cursor on your TV screen, then start looking at features and buying one if necessary.
