I have an 8 GB 1.1.3 iphone that i've been using for the past month. I have a few questions before i jump into this ziphone thing

1) Do i have to restore it back to a clean 1.1.3 through itunes, or is it ready to go since it is already 1.1.3? (all the tuts i find restore it but they dont specify if they are already running 1.1.3)

2)Will i lose things like contacts, bookmarks, ringtones...basically anything i added or changed?

3)I def. need to run the "jailbreak" feature, but what exactly is the diff. between jailbreak and "unlock"? I'm thinking it has to do w/ being able to use a diff sim card..?

4)I already have activated it through AT&T, will it be ready to use on the AT&T network as soon as ziphone is does its thing?

5) finally, i have itunes 7.6, which some say doesn't work...but others say it does (http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38751)...what's the deal there?

I've looked around for these questions but i always only get half of an answer. Thanks in advance, i'm a nub

Just sync, then restore just in case although you shouldnt really have to...

2)Will i lose things like contacts, bookmarks, ringtones...basically anything i added or changed?

As long as you sync, the only thing you will lose is custom ringtones if they are not through iTunes, everything else is saved.

3)I def. need to run the "jailbreak" feature, but what exactly is the diff. between jailbreak and "unlock"? I'm thinking it has to do w/ being able to use a diff sim card..?

If you are with AT&T like myself, all you need to do is Jailbreak, unlocking is like using your iPhone overseas or with TMobile.

4)I already have activated it through AT&T, will it be ready to use on the AT&T network as soon as ziphone is does its thing?

Yes, actually, when you jailbreak your phone, it will already be activated...

5) finally, i have itunes 7.6, which some say doesn't work...but others say it does (http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38751)...what's the deal there?

The version of iTunes shouldnt matter because none of the jailbreak involves iTunes. Just follow all of the guides on iClarified.com for how to jailbreak.

Hope all this helps!
