My opinions only, feel free to disagree....

I bought a 3G 16 mg on the Apple Store, arrived about 8-10 days after ordering....

The workmanship on my iPad appears to be flawless, it is impressive to hold and touch without evening turning it on, a number of people I have shown it to have also commented on that....

I really like the Apple case, where the front cover flips over to hold it in typing position or stands it up.....

Having no connectivity issues like I have seen reported....

A lot of the Apps made just for the iPad suddenly quit when I am using them, especially the news readers, probably because I spend so much time on them, but all of them, the NY Times, USA Today, AP have quit on me at least once. I am guessing this is to be expected because they are all version 1.whatever and they had to write these apps for a device they couldn't touch....

I have now taken off any apps for the iPhone only, can't stand the way they look on the iPad, I can wait until the updates....

Video on this thing is beautiful.....

I have read on this site where a lot of people say that you don't need an iPad, they are right, you don't need it..... But Wild Horses couldn't drag me away from it now....

I can't type or spell to save my life, but the spell checker/auto corrector/guess which word I am trying to type thing, it is amazing....

The keyboard in the landscape mode is a lot larger than I thought it was going to be......

Finally, I have read a lot in the media where they say it slots somewhere in-between a smart phone and a laptop, and that it can't replace a laptop...

They are right, my iPad with the hardware and software on it now cannot replace a laptop, however, I can see the day, (and sooner than most of us would have thought) that it will be able to quite easily.

Oh-and thanks to all the people that post so much helpful information in this forum, I have learned much from you guys, (and gals). Be well.

I almost feel like OS 4 is going to be a step in this direction. With the introduction of multitasking, we're going to be able to do more with our devices than before. I honestly won't bring my laptop some places I used to. It's just no longer needed.

I'm just happy that with other countries getting it we'll have a s**t ton more people playing with it and developing apps for it :) There's going to be so much stuff that other people will be able to bring to the table now that it's going to be in 9 (i believe?) more countries.

i think this is the 2nd time ive seen you say this in a thread. what is the use of saying such a thing? it will likely get you a time out.

you have something against the ipad lol? or positive comments in general?

Just consistency. I have the same comment for negative posts. If people are going to jump on posters for posting negative impressions by saying 'Nice blog post' or 'Why should we care about your views' etc. the same should apply to 'positive' impressions.

I'm not a believer that every use needs to post their impressions of the device. Perhaps there could be a sinlge 'User impressions' thread. Then I could post mine in there tomorrow or sometime after rather than needing to start up a whole new thread.

But thanks for your feedback.

ok i can def see your point and agree that there probably are a few too many of these threads going around - but saying "thats nice dear" does seem a bit derogatory and "cocky", if you will, which is why i approached you about it :)

i agree - one centralised thread.

I agree with everything the original poster said. With regard to the iPad apps crashing, I have noticed that as well and it does seem odd and unexpected since iPhone apps rarely, if ever, crash. I wonder if this is the result of a rush to develop or port apps to the iPad?

I would say that's a highly likely scenario.

Too bad it guessed wrong with "even" ;)

Have you tried restarting your iPad after installing apps? I will have a rare crash every once in a while especially after installing apps. Good luck, and I'm glad you enjoy your iPad. Don't let these rude people get on your nerves. They get off on being hateful to people for no reason.

What difference does it make?

It's quite obvious what the thread is. The clue is pretty much in the title. If you don't like it, or feel that you don't need to read anymore impressions threads, then don't open it.

You're not obligated to post in every thread you open, whether you do or don't like it. The OP's topic was of alot more interest and use than comments like "that's nice dear". Infact they were a hell of alot more interesting than this post too but.. whatever!

Thank you for saying that, that was pretty much what I was thinking. I thought the title of the thread clearly indicated what the post was about and if you are tired of reading posts like that then...... Hello!

A nice set of first-week impressions, I got my Italian iPad a few hours ago and I'm already ready to sing its praise!

Same here. Now if only Ballmer were to announce at WWDC that MS will develop an iPad version of MS Office app. Wouldn't that be something?

Nicely put. You know, come to think about it, there's almost no gadget that you truly NEED. I still know people that don't even own a computer and they are doing just fine.

But if wild horses couldn't drag you away from it, then obviously you're getting more than your money's worth out of it. What more justification does one need?
