Well now that the 2011 mini has launched and it is a nice machine I have no complaints about it for my personal use. I had an early thread the first on mac rumors on what the 2012 mini needs to have.

I again talked about it on another site

MY idea was bring back the brick. For high end option thus allowing psu removal from the inside and having a 110 watt psu on the outside. The 110watt psu would allow a good gpu and a quad as a hi end option. Most against this said it is a step backwards and apple would not do it. I have to agree and have come up with a better outside power supply.
The 2011 mini uses a power cord that plugs into a wall socket. I say wall mount the brick give it two plugs to plug into the wall socket.
This is a photo of a kill- a -watt if you had an apple power meter/psu it would look somewhat like the kill-a-watt and just plug into the wall.
One pass through plug like the kill-a-watt and a mini power cord at the top that mag attaches to the mini.
So to Steve J and the mini design team this is my gift for you a simple new solution that would allow the mini's footprint to remain the same. It also allows for easy cooling and better quad/gpu options just in case t-bolt is a bust. You could do this with not a lot of effort. It also keeps the control/profit in your hands and not in the hands of external companies that offer an external pcie card holder.
I added a second photo with help from my good friend mr b. It is quite easy to imagine combining the mini psu with the kill-a-watt's pass through plug feature. The brick is wall mounted out of site and out of mind. Remember right now you have a plug into the wall and a wire to the mini. A 110watt psu cures all ills. It would be very nice for quad cpu's and discrete gpu's in the same box. So steve it is a free idea to kick around.
