define "share"

Are you looking to share your tunes? If so, iTunes already lets you do this.

Are you looking to offer your tunes for download (don't pirate please)? If so, perhaps you can setup a SMB share of your music directory? SharePoints should help

Are you looking to offer your non-music files on your iPod? perhaps the SMB share idea of your mounted iPod volume might work???

Exactly what are you looking to share?

No, like my initial topic suggested, i'm looking for some sort of software that will let me share my iPod over a rendevous network in the same way one can share his or her iTunes library... through iTunes...

No doesn't really answer my questions. What EXACTLY are you looking to do?

Do you intend to connect your iPod to a computer and then you want to share all the files on it?

Music can be shared using iTunes. Files can be shared using SMB. The only thing I am unsure of is if you can create a share that uses your mounted iPod.

you could always take all the music on your ipod and choose one of the metadata categories that you don't use for anything else and give some weird description for the category. then make a smart playlist with that as the requirement. then call the playlist "ipod"

not exactly what you want, but the results would be close

Sounds like he wants to share his iPod over Rendezvous. He prolly doesn't keep his music on his computer and wants to share it over a network while the music remains on the iPod. That app I posted looks like it has gotten good reviews, but those reviews did come before iTunes 4.5 came out

then i have another question for the poster.

do you have enough space on your ipod to hold duplicate copies of all your music? you could always have the ipod be the home of your itunes library. then you could have links to the files in itunes, but it would only have the music there when you plugged the ipod in.

of course, this is kinda a pain because of all the space it takes on the ipod, but if anyone else has an idea to use the ipod like that without duplicating the music, i think that is a good plan.
