Yes - hopefully we'll get multitasking with 4.0
But in the meantime - it would be great if someone create an app with a suite of functionality. If you've downloaded weather bug - you'll see that there are sections of the screen you tap to bring down center for more details and then send it back to it's "dock" on the page
Imagine if someone were to create an App that had a twitter feed/functionality, IM, Email and web browser and maybe some other "widgets" that worked the same way.
What if there was an app that had several modules and via "settings" in the app you could select which modules show up on the page. Then they would run and you could (like the weather bug app) click on one to bring it front and center for more detailed info. IE - bigger browser space. Or twitter feed becomes twitter "client" when clicked. Email inbox list becomes bigger with viewing pane.
I am sure that people would not only pay for an app like this - but that they'd plunk down a decent amount for it as well.
It could even be created by some company willing to split profits with other successful developers and combine "lite" or smaller versions of popular apps like tweetie2/twittelater/etc + IM+ + etc.... and package them all together into this type of interface...
Just my .02
