I have a Powerbook G4, and have been getting a message that says that I should delete files for more space. I have backed up as much as I think possible on an external hard drive. Now, to delete files, is there a simple way to do this, or do I just look for files on my desktop and trash them?

Thanks for any help,

K

Well applications might be a place to start to look for things to delete. They take up much more space than a generic file. however, yes. you must simply drag things you dont want into the trash or cmd+click and do delete or something of the similar kind. nothing easier than that.

side note: you really always want 6 or 7 gigabytes free for virtual ram to be able to work properly and keep your computer running at a good speed.

If you don't use Garageband or iDVD, they have loops and themes respectively that take up lots of space. Use Spotlight to find their location and drag them to the Trash, then empty.

Also, try using Monolingual or an alternative to get rid of excessive language files in Tiger.
