Hi Guys,
While waiting for my Merom MBP, I sold an old car I had in the driveway and decided to grab a MacBook today
Since this machine will mostly be used by my finace, I used the Migration Assistant to transfer over her music, pics and apps. The old machine is a G4 Mini... sooo most things seem to be ok, but I am wondering if the apps like Firefox, which transferred over are running in native mode, or are the older ppc builds being run through Rosetta. Is there a way to tell? Do these apps switch when transferred over?
My real question is did my ppc versions of iLife 6 come over and overwrite the new intel builds? Forgive my ignorance but I can't figure it out. The other things I had come over were Pages and Keynote.. are there new versions of this I need to get? They both seem to run fine, albeit a little slow it seems. Skype is another one that came over that seems to be running fine, but should I replace it with another download?
The basic question I suppose is... Are universal apps installed as one version or the other, or do they retain both parts?
Thanks everyone,
Brant
