Suppose I connect my MacBook via HDMI to a display, is it possible to connect a keyboard (wired or wireless) so I can use it without having to access the Mac books keyboard?

Via Bluetooth yes. You’ll need a mouse or trackpad as well.

But how will you power it? Doesn’t the MacBook have one port? Unless you get a USB charging monitor.
