HI

(Please view attached photo)

I was visiting Japan and bought a (data only) SIM card. In order to activate/install the SIM card, I had to download a configuration profile from http://wps.click/. According to the manual, this process was in order to "set the APN Settings".

I then had to go to http://wps.click/a/ and enter the information provided on my SIM card (there was a number on the card). This was called "complete the activation procedure".

Can someone explain to me what all of this was for and how I can delete the download?

The mobile internet is working fine, I just want to understand what I installed on my phone.

Thank you for your help!

The profile sets the providers APNs. The (A)ccess (P)oint (N)ames are how your phone connects to the provider. Without the correct APN you cannot connect to the provider and use their network.

Registering the serial number on the SIM card activated that SIM card on their network, allowing you access to use their network.

On my SE it is settings-general, scroll towards the bottom until you see profile. For me it is under VPN. I am on iOS 11 btw. Click on profile, then click on the installed profile and there should be a remove profile in red at the bottom.
