Hi all,

I thought I'd let you know about a forum I've just completed building. It's for Blizzard's Diablo series, and we're looking for new members to join!

Although we're currently lacking in content a little at the moment, the site has a great deal to offer. I'm a web and graphics designer by trade, and I've been building the design for 6 months now. Therefore, it's not your ordinary run of the mill phpBB theme, and I'd greatly appreciate even if you don't wish to join up, to have a look and give me some critique! :)

When you join, you choose your allegiance towards Sanctuary or Hell, which will define your experience on the forums in numerous ways. I've also created an achievements system of sorts, where users can earn 'Medals' for actions which contribute towards the community. There are four forums - a forum for discussion of each iteration of the Diablo series, and The Inn. I'm keeping it simple with just the four, for I believe that having a mass of forums and subforums is really overkill for a new community, and makes browsing content hazardous and confusing.

My intentions for these fora are not to create a several-thousand-member mega community. What I'd love to see would be a relatively small, yet active community who are passionate about the Diablo series and the community. Somewhere you can go to for answers, opinion and a little banter - where your voice is heard! There aren't any pesky adverts all over the website either, so you can browse in peace.

So, now for that dirty question: if you'd like to have a look at the site, and perhaps register an account, please look no further.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you're all as excited about Diablo III on the Mac as I am.

Tom, Diablo Forum admin.

The text is difficult to read. It's black against like..dark grey. If you want to grab some members, just make an account on other diablo forums and become an active and good member. Place the link to you're website and tell people about you're forum. Someone asks a question on the forum you're on, make an answer on you're forum and post a link. There are also hundreds of article directories out there, write and submit articles :D.

Yeah you're right, I've also had several people tell me this already. The text colour is lightening up a little in the next go-over :)

That's a great idea. I did have some blog writing in mind, as well as a guides submission area and a gallery to give the site a little body. Right now though it's just a simple discussion forum and nothing more, though I do have plans for further content.

I'm also experimenting with Facebook ads, set a small budget to target people who have 'Diablo' under their interests. Though I agree, the best way to promote active membership is to get to know the people already in forum communities.

I thought I might post it here given that Blizzard is always on the horizon of Mac players due to their consistent loyalty to the platform. I also, perhaps naively, assumed I'd get some good critique on the design here too!

Thanks for taking a look by the way.
