Can anyone recommend a site for some free fonts? Or Companies that make good usable ones? (Modern/Simple/Clean)...I am just a beginner so I want to try some free ones before spending money...Also is there a 'best' one? Opentype, Truetype? thanks for the tips.. :D

DaFont is very good. But I am kind of passionate about Fonts and I really think you have to pay for quality.

Even if that means using mainly one, but from Adobe or Linotype. For my company we use only two sets and this is contributing to our company identity.

Ya I have googled but it seems there is a bunch of sites all with the same fonts...it almost seems like some sort of scam. You get lost in this web of font-sites =/....The fonts are a bit cheesy too...

Angelo you might be correct. ..might have to pay for quality..If paying Adobe and Linotype are the top of the line? I'll check those out. thanks

Also, be aware that many 'free' fonts are free for private use, but you'll be expected to upgrade to a commercial license if you intend to use them for paying work.

In all honesty, it's easier just to spring for a commercial license upfront in most cases, or shell out for one of the more reasonably priced collections.

Cheers!

Jim
