okay, here's the deal. I originally bought my MBP in the middle part of last month, but I just discovered it had a serious video card issue so they (meaning the Apple store) replaced it today with a new one. (yet, one more reason why I'm in love with Apple. awesome customer service!)

so now, my friend tells me because I now have a receipt that says my MBP was purchased in October that it should entitle me to get Leopard on Friday for $10. is this too good to be true or do you guys (and gals) think my friend is wrong?

if he is wrong, then I know I can order Leopard from Apple's site and it will be shipped to me. their site says it will be delivered on Friday, right? so in other words, if I order it in the next couple days will I have it on my front door come this Friday? it'll be shipped overnite for free?

please discuss either way.

It depends on how they replaced it. If they gave you a retail swap which is return resale with an override of the 14 days then yes you can get leopard discounted. You should have a receipt with 2 MBPs on it one returned and one purchased.
