A question about Hipstamatic

I have question about this app. Under settings you can set "Developing to high quality" but what does this mean? Better photos to share from within the app or better photos in general?
Will the quality of the pictures be the same in my camera roll?

better resolution in your cam roll. bigger picture, bigger file size. but does take a noticeably much long time developing the picture.
