How many hours a day do you actually have the AirPods in your ears? I have a feeling that many of you that claim they are oh so comfortable only use it for a short period of time throughout the day ( either commute, etc) which is not a testament to how actually comfortable they are as I use them for about 8 hours each day and they are not as comfortable as the AirPods 2’s, not even close.

I wear them off and on about 5-6hrs a day. honestly the AirPods Pro 2 never fit good with the silicone tips. my AirPods 2 fit fine but they made it a little sore after a while also. I don't have that issue with these new ones.

I never tried the AirPods 3.

So I wear them approx 8-9 hours a day with a brief 30 minute break in between to charge them when the battery is about to die. These new AirPods are just not as comfortable as the AirPods 2’s when it comes to long listening sessions. I don’t know what to make of this, I really want to like these new AirPod 4’s and keep them and NOT go back to the AirPods 2’s but the AirPods 2 comes with its own set of problems aka the well know pre-mature microphone failure where the mic fails requiring a replacements from Apple under warranty/Apple care which I’ve had to go through several times in the last couple of years

The thing with headphones and earphones is that fit differs from person to person. What fits one person like a glove might be too tight or loose for someone else's pair of ears, and vice versa. That's why any talk about comfort by someone else cannot be believed.

That’s nonsense. The AirPods 2’s fit the vast majority of the population just fine and Apple should have stuck to that design

And what source do you have showing they fit the “majority” of the population just fine? Your own two ears?

I can wear all iterations of the AirPods Pro or not just fine. That doesn’t mean that applies to the rest of the world. I don’t have your ears and you don’t have mine.

If it helps I’ve returned by 4s as I don’t find them as comfortable as the 2s either
Yeah the comfort just isn’t there with the 4’s. The issues I have with the 2’s is the microphones don’t last for more than a year and I am sick of having to get the 2’s replaced under warranty every damn year.

Indeed. I’ve had both AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2, both fit very well.

It has nothing to do with them "fitting very well". They fit very well in my ears as well but cause extreme discomfort after having them in my ears for 4-8 hours each day which is NOT the case with the shape of the older AirPods 2.

I wear mine for upwards of four hours or more many days, and because they fit well, there’s no discomfort.

4-5 hours here (need a charge) and not a single issue. I couldn’t wear APP2 and tried every damn tip on the market. I am thankful Apple made these and quite frankly still shocked they did. Love the sound quality and ANC.

Good fit & feel is everything with earbuds and it really varies among people. I have tried every model of AirPods and a variety of tips and returned all of them as they were either uncomfortable or wouldn't stay in place or both; all of them, that is, until the APP2's. With the stock tips they feel great and stay in place - my first keepers and they have replaced my Sony WF-1000XM5's.

I can’t wear the pros, the AirPods 1 and 2 were fine but loose, the 3s were the best for me, and the 4s feel like the 3s to me but a little more snug and with ANC that is far better than I thought it would be. I usually only wear them for about 1 hour at a time, but I take a lot of long flights and also go to sleep with them in, and the 4s are much better than the 2s in those situations. Of course, everyone has different ears, so YYMV.

That is probably true, but that doesn't mean there aren't individual variations in comfort and secure fit. For example, the Airpods 1/2 were maybe slightly more comfortable for me than the 3/4, but they also fell out very easily. The 3/4 are still comfortable but more secure in my ears. And the 4's ANC is a big plus for me, even though it is not perfect.
