A rant about tech pundits

Ok, I just have to get this off my chest. For the last 5 years if you listen to any of the Apple/tech pundits out there they have practically been screaming up and down about the SD card slot. I mean it has been a non stop "Where's the SD card slot?" "Why did you take the SD card slot away?" "When can we get the SD card slot back?" "SD CARD SLOT!!!" Even last week I heard some of these people moaning about "I really hope they bring back the SD card slot."

Well now the updated MacBook Pros are here and these same pundits are almost uniformly saying "Oh, well SD is on it's way out anyway." "Most cameras are moving away from SD." "SD is so old now."

WTF? Nobody even has these systems in hand yet and the goal posts are already moving. For crying out loud!!!!'

Ok, I'm done. Thanks for letting me get that out there.

I personally like having the card slot back.

Do you have clips of them flip-flopping? If so, you should name them and post the evidence so we know who they are.

The are also complaining that it may be the old SD card specs. Research says that given the opportunity 13% of the population will complain. My mother was in that percentage(she died right before the pandemic at age 98.). If we went to a steak restaurant, she would order fish and then complain it takes frozen. And of course if we went to a fish place she would order he steak and complain for the same reason. If her union negotiated the best contract int he world, she would vote against it. For my Mother, nothing, literally nothing was good enough for her, except my father. Oddly, my mother’s family believed she had married seriously DOWN, and could have done so much better.

I no longer use SD. My new Canon R5 has a CF Express B card.

Call me crazy, but I wish my iPad had an SD card slot! Dongles suck. But I suppose the iPad is too thin. I don't think I'd trust BT transmission from my camera to my iPhone/iPad/Macbook. RAW files would be too big. And camera battery life while sending is drained, is it not?
