Every time Apple introduces a new product, a flame war ensues. The community is then split between three factions: the haters, the fanboys, and the level headed ones. The problem is, neither the haters and fanboys are correct. Both are too extreme, loud and poor representations of the their respective userbases, leading to more confusion and chaos.

Below are two blog posts from my blog that critiques both Apple Haters and Fanboys. These represent my thoughts for both parties and I hope you can give me some good feedback. They will be much appreciated. :)

Both are a valid read, I see you hated the Apple Fanboys, first. Or at least, ranted about them first. ;)

I have to say, I'm not an "old timer" here - but this forum has changed a LOT as of late - and I see more of both extremes, and far less of the level headed folks that drew me to this site in the first place....

I think it was more that most people came to this site because they liked Apple, where as now more people come with issues, and it's more like a tech support forum. Less of a small community of elitists and more riff raff ;)

Yeah, so? Is this any different from anything else?

All too extreme causes issues as you are living blindfolded, you can't see anything else but that thing and only its good or bad sides. Applies to pretty much everything; religion, sports, gadgets, even home town! Some people just take things way too seriously.

Golden midway FTW! ;)

There are a lot similar "wars" between other gadgets as well; PS3 vs X360, Intel vs AMD, NVidia vs ATI... etc, that list is endless

Oh yes, but none of these "wars" are nearly as fierce as Apple vs Everything Else.

I don't know about that! My whole highschool seems to be pro-Xbox360 and I am a PS3 guy. I tend to get tons of flame thrown at me about this or that but truth is, I got it because of the free online XD. But the Apple war is equally as bad(or maybe worse)

I would say that Apple's worst customers are the overly devout blind-faith enthusiast who look to put all Windows users down. All it does is breath a hatred into the hearts of people who might have otherwise switched to Mac.

I would like to consider myself a moderate on the basis that I realize that Apple is a company not a deity and, that ALL technology fails and manufacturing defaults may exist but Apple stands strong behind their products.

I hate Apple because of some of their Nazi ways and their overinflated prices. And yet I own one (even though I never paid Apple's price for it). Not only that, I insist that my laptops should be Apple. But totally opposite with their desktops (I wouldn't buy that junk). So am I a h8r or a fanboi?

Haters and fanboys are people who hate or worship Apple without any rationalities. You're a normal tech enthusiast. :)

"Level-headed ones" do not spend time writing rants against fanboys and the haters. You have way too much time on your hands.
