I consider myself a rarity because I own a Mac but yet have an Android smartphone.

I know most people (probably about 80%) who own Apple products only own the iOS devices, not Macs. For the ones that do own Macs, I bet about 95% of them choose the iPhone as their smartphone of choice. Therefore, I would consider myself in that slim 5% who own a Mac, but does not choose the iPhone as their smartphone of choice.

So, is there anyone else here on MacRumors in the same boat as me?

I used to be in the same boat, but I have recently switched.

Now I have an iPhone, but use a Win 7 machine. I won it in a contest.

You've never seen one of the hundreds of "Switched to an Android phone and couldn't be happier" threads in the iPhone forum? :p

I dunno, I have a macbook air right now, but use a WP7 and Dell as my primary devices. As someone that isn't enamored over Apple, I must be even rarer ;)

I think you'll be surprised that there's a number of members here who have Macs, but use Android or WP phones. Or those who have an iPhone but use a PC.

I think it best to select the right tool that fits your needs, whether that's android or iOS.

I was using android for sometime, but decided to come back to the fold and use the iPhone, partly because my company was locking down their exchange servers so only iOS and blackberry could access corporate emails - no android

I've been a member of this forum for over a decade but I've never been exclusively Apple.

Up until recently I rocked a first gen Palm Pre. Hows that for rare! :D

Same here.... Samsung Captivate with a MacBook Air. Looking into getting the GSIII or HTC One X if the iPhone doesn't meet my criteria. So I don't really have plans have all gadgets exclusively apple.

I have both. My one good eye is getting really old and the Samsung Skyrocket I have right now is bigger and can be adjusted to my needs without hindering anything else in the process. I also am not holding it as close.

I am using the iPhone 4 as an iPod until the new Nano comes out. I'm going to buy an iPad 3 too.

I had an iPhone 3GS for a while, never liked it, ended up selling it for $100 and bought myself a Palm Pixi. Best phone I've ever owned, WebOS FTW! :D

WebOS was a great OS and I hope that by some miracle it gets back on its feet. If it does, and the hardware is good, I'd have no qualms ditching iOS to go back. When I moved from my Pre to the iPhone 4s I was surprised about how many iOS UI elements and interactions felt clunky and desktop-centric compared to WebOS. I dare say iOS feels dated compared to WebOS in may respects.

Sorry to hear about your phone. I am your opposite.

I have an iPhone but currently (not for much longer) have windows machines.

Windows 7 + Android here. :p

I used a Mac exclusively since System 7, but Apple lost me after they messed up (in my opinion) with Final Cut Pro X and Lion. I had an iPod Touch, but found iOS limiting so I never bought an iPhone.
