A simple question about Sonoma

Is there any way I can stop any windows I have open from temporarily disappearing when I click on the actual desktop screen? I have two monitors and when I need to switch from one monitor to another, I click on that monitor's desktop so any new windows I open get opened on that desktop and not the other screen. But when I click on the actual desktop, any windows I have open on either monitor disappear and its very annoying. Is there any way I can disable this?

For macOS Sonoma, Apple changed the Mac so that clicking on the desktop activates Expose and hides all your apps. Fortunately, you can stop it — albeit with a workaround.
