A simple router to switch question

I want to have my router hardwired directly next to my Mac (router LAN port one) and have the router’s second LAN port connected to a switch that will connect to my internet things (TV, XBox, Sonos, PlayStation, Roku)

Will this be problematic or perfectly fine?

Should be perfectly fine. You didn’t mention which router, most have 4 ports and many people add switches to increase that number. My Eero only has two Ethernet ports so I added a 16 port switch to connect everything.
