I came here two years ago, almost, to ask for good hosting services, and you guys gave me an awesome answer
But, I just recently came across A Small Orange's lifetime plans.
Having already done a search on these forums, I see they've been mentioned quite a few times..
So, anyone have experience with ASO? Good, bad? Mediocre? Is the $150 (400mb space/10gb monthly transfer, same features as regular services [php, perl, python, rails (yummy!), unlimited mysql databases, unlimited parked/addon domains, et cetera]) plan okay? I also have .mac and have no problem using my .mac together with whatever hosting services I get, so space/transfer limitations are not a big deal. Also, if i ever have a need to get the $300 plan (1gb space/25gb transfer), I can upgrade by paying the difference between the two plans.
I am fully aware that this company is probably not going to be in existence for a "lifetime", but as long as ASO exists in its current form for the next 2 years, it's fine with me.
I'm planning on switching in the next month or two. Just wanted to know if there were any people using ASO as their host, and a little bit about the experience(s) they had with the company. They came highly recommended by a friend, and my limited experience so far badgering their tech support with questions about their plans and exactly what came with each plan was unbelievably excellent (email responses in a matter of a few minutes! orgasmic!
