here's a thought:

i'm a tmobile customer (no longer under contract) and I'll be purchasing an iphone with a 2 year contract. since there aren't any promotions or discounts regarding iphone, what's stopping me from signing up with At&t today, getting a free POS phone out of a two year agreement, selling it right away on ebay, and buying my iphone friday (or whenever) as an existing At&t customer? might be able to knock $200 off that way! feedback??

Might work.

You will likely have to pay activation fees both times which will take a chunk out of any money you would get selling a phone on E-bay. Not sure of any reason why it would not work.

You'll still have to pay monthly for the iPhone plan

Instead of doing that, why don't you just get an iPhone on Friday and sell it on Ebay during all the frenzy to get one. And then get yours ordered online or go to the store next week?

I'm sure the iPhone will be worth at least $400 more on Ebay this first weekend and maybe first week.

that's not the point so much, but thanks for responding!

i'm suggesting that if everybody's going to sign up for a 2 year contract (assuming you aren't already in a contract with At&t), then you might as well get a free phone out of it. then, you could either sell that free phone on ebay for some easy cash back, mail it to me for free, or keep it! Slip your SIM card in there and avoid ruining your iphone when you're going to the beach or getting drunk or something. :D

I really won't sell it on ebay, too much trouble, just buy one in the store and just get an AT &T contract

I'm considering that as well, why not do both?
