thanks ... I'm going to order the tilt only monitor and hope for a less expensive solution. The display with the regular tilt only stand weighs 13.9 lbs.
That’s pretty heavy.
While the Mac Studio chassis can undoubtedly support it, there’s not a single image anywhere (in apples marketing promotions) showing the monitor being placed on the computer.
There is a clear plexiglass U shaped ‘shelf’ made for the Mac Mini for this purpose so I’m sure that very soon there will be one available for the studio Mac too.
you could just build a little shelfthanks ... I'm going to order the tilt only monitor and hope for a less expensive solution.

that's nice. I imagine they will make a model a little higher to fit the studio .....Here’s the plexiglass shelf for the mini I mentioned (made by Newer Tech)

i'm glad they did it the way they did. for one, the height adjustment mechanism looks pretty lux so i'd be happy having that if i bought it rather than some sort of cheaper compromise. two, i need a monitor that is positioned as far back as possible and the tilt option is further back than the height-adjustable one, so I end up winning out there.Apple fracked up with the Studio Display; should have been tilt/height/rotation adjustable from the jump...
is there any reason not to place the display on top of the studio?
If you want it to look like this, sure.
I'm still waiting on my VESA mount Studio Display, but even with a temporary cheapo monitor mounted on my new Ergotron LX I am extremely glad to have gone this route. My desk has an upper platform and sometimes I'd like the monitor a bit closer--it wasn't possible with my 27" iMac. Now I have pretty much infinite adjustability. Hard to imagine going back.thanks ... I'm going to order the tilt only monitor and hope for a less expensive solution.
