Never posted before so thought I'd go for it, going to give a view of ex PC user who switched to 24 inch imac 1 year ago. Hoping it can help at least one person thinking about it.

Main interests are music making, bit of photography, general surfing and work based stuff.

If I was to sum it up in one word it would be integration, all the programs I use (logic express/aperture/Final Cut Express HD/iTunes/Toast/iWork 08 etc) all work beautifully together. Also music work (Axiom 25 keyboard/Tascam FW 1082 desk) has become so much easier and productive, better flow to things, also no freezes I can remember since switch, had many using Cubase and PC.

One totally unexpected benefit has been how the girlfriend has adapted to using the computer, before she would only go to the PC as a last resort and would often call me to help out, now she will quite happily sit of an evening updating her ipod/touch, looking at photos, browsing the web, doing some work. The mac just moves from serious work to fun stuff so easily, very intuitive. Also using the eye TV means we can work on fun stuff and still watch tv at same time, I know this is done on PC also but it just seemed very easy to set up and the link with itunes/toast is great.

I'm off skiing soon to Northstar and will be in SF at start of Feb, hoping to pick up Logic Studio 8 and office for mac 08 (still believe I need this for work regardless of iwork improvements) , also if macbook is updated will also purchase.

Not sure if I'm going leopard yet but will make up mind before going.

Okay not the most hard hitting review but one from a totally satisfied switcher, also I'm not a gamer so no ideas re game usefulness.

What I can say is two mates have switched based on my recommendation/playing with my set up and they are equally happy.

Hope to get a web page set up soon, with mac. of course.

Happy mac-ing or whatever the phrase is.
