From time to time, when I play games, I want to watch a movie simultaneously.

Currently, I use VLC on my iPad Air M2 for watching movies, but it doesn't have a picture-in-picture (PIP) mode.

Do you know of any video player with a PIP mode? I don't mind if it's free or paid, but I don't want an app that requires creating an account or logging in to use it, nor one that focuses on streaming or watching online content; I only need it to play local files (unlike Plex, whose primary purpose is streaming and watching online content)

I use the excellent file manager FileBrowser. Besides a huge variety of file formats, it also plays videos that iPadOS natively supports (like .mp4 with AC3/DD audio).
For formats not officially supported by iPadOS (like .mkv with DTS audio) I use nPlayer.
Both support PiP and are a one-time-purchase without any additional logins or data tracking.
Tested on iPadOS 17 on an iPad 6th gen.
They are not free but I cannot see the price as I purchased both a long time ago.

I don't see any mention of PIP in the features of nPlayer. Does it have official support for PIP or must I use a workaround?

Can u share a screenshot just to be sure?

Sure. You just have to tap the PiP icon in the top right corner of the video during playback.

It's works only with one current file, after moving on next one in playlist pip disappears. Do you now how fix this problem?

Sorry, no. It does not work for me either.
(Tested FileBrowser, nPlayer and also SwizzTube for YouTube videos).
According to this reddit thread it should work with Video Player but I have not tested it.
