I have used an airport express in my house for sending to a receiver that powers speaker throughout my hose, and love it. However I have recently moved my received next to my router. It seems so pointless to have a wireless connection for about 4 inches. I was wondering if an ethernet replacement exists. It would only need to have an audio out jack. I ask because I need to get another airport express for travel, and I could replace the one I am currently using.

Also one more question I am not great with networking, but I am running out of available ports for my airport extreme and need to know what switches play well with the apple. Any suggestions?

Was it lost on the new post screen in a lot of new posts or does one not exist?
I will try again.

You can set up airport express for audio output only, connect via extreme base station with ethernet, and turn off wifi on the express.

Other option:
Logitech Squeezebox Receiver, but more expensive than airport express. Maybe they have refurbs?

Any ethernet switch would work. You might want to get gigabit if you have multiple computers and transfer using ethernet. Gigabit ethernet switch is about the same price as regular ethernet switch.

5 port gigabit usually around $20 on sale.
