A0 sizing for printers

Hi, I am making a couple of posters and using European A0 sizing for this specific project. This would be my first time using EU sizing. After looking up the measurements and plugging in the 841x1189 mm EU size into InDesign it outputs 33.1102x46.811 in. - My question is, should I use the exact output dimensions or round to 33.1x46.8 for turing work in to the printers? Will either option even make a difference? Thanks!

Any half decent printers will trim to your requirements no matter what dimensions. If they don't take your business elsewhere. So if the client requires an A0 print don't change the dimensions, A0 is A0.

Been in the trade for 40 years. You take you job to the printer and tell them what you want. They do it and that is that. They should not give you any grief about finish size. That is up to you, "the client", not them. They are there to provide you a service.

I have seen many unusual sizes, or what may seem unusual to me, in my 40 year career.

Personally I'd just go with InDesign's conversion.

Having said that, I wouldn't have thought rounding to within a hundredth of an inch would make much difference to the printer.

Okay, so if you round to the nearest tenth of an inch it's going to come out at 840.74 x 1188.72mm. A fraction of a millimeter, if I was printing or trimming the job I would call a 2mm variation acceptable so a few tenths of a mm is nothing.

However if you want to make yourself look good to your client I would switch InDesign units to mm while you're working on the project. Because the first thing I always did with a new print job was to check the document size. If I saw something that wasn't exactly 841 x 1189mm I would think to myself "what kind of n00b set this up...?"

The choice is yours!
